2008 brings our first big adventure

We are moving to Colorado! Kinda scary, a little crazy (things have happened so fast), but very exciting! I got a job with a civil engineering firm in Windsor called Interwest Consulting. They were very impressive during the interview and I really liked the office environment. My start date is February 4th, so that means we will be packing up and heading out of town the last week of January. Like I said earlier, things have happened very fast.

Our plan is to find a fully furnished one bedroom apartment and rent month to month until our house sells in Portland and we can find a new place to buy in Windsor or Fort Collins. Once we get there Jamie will start looking for a job, hopefully just part time. Lord willing she will be able to be a full time mom this year, but still no luck in that department:(

There isn't a whole lot we will miss about Portland...We are trading in the rain for the sun, the traffic and congestion for open roads and farmland, and 1 professional sports team for 4!!!
However we will miss all of our friends (I will certainly miss a certain Portland Police officer, but our next triathlon will be here before long). We have been blessed with great relationships here during the first few years of our marriage and hopefully we will be able to keep in touch (with blogs and emails, I hope it will be easy to do so). It will also be hard leaving both our families behind on the west coast. It has been great having two of Jamie's siblings here in Portland and only being 5 hours away from both parents, but now this will give everyone an excuse to come out and see a different part of the country. And we will also be a quick 3 hour plan ride away from the east coast siblings.

We will do our best to keep everybody updated. I can't wait to post some pictures of our new home in Colorado!

I'm excited for you, too! But will certainly miss knowing you were just 5 hours away! Maybe I can find a class to take in Denver!!

Howdy Partners!!! (That's how we talk here in Colorado) Can't wait to take Jamie cowboy dancing at the Sundance! We are gathering the troops here in Fort Collins to welcome you both with open arms! So get ready for the great Mexican food and Margs at the Rio, the famous home made ice cream at the Walrus, and the new 2 acre dog park for the pooch.

The blue sky's are waiting!
